Thursday Good Things

Happy Thursday! You know what today is, right? The day you get to share good news with me (and everybody who is reading my blog). It makes my day when you comment and share something good, no matter how small.

I’ll share one thing I’m loving today and then clear out so you all can have room to share: I am finally getting my (and The Boy’s) passports updated. I have only procrastinated on this for about…oh, never mind, I’m too embarrassed to tell you. It’s been a long time, but it’s moving forward today! What a nice feeling to have crossed something off my FOREVER to-do list.

So, please, now, step up. What’s good in your world today?

I spent a lovely morning with my dear friend chatting over green tea and cookies then ran a several errands. I stopped at a park for some springtime photos while enjoying the blooming magnolias, daffodils and forsythia. I did a quick stop at the local Arts Council to check my art quilt groups’ exhibit to make sure nothing is awry (one minor issue). Then I came home made up three flower arrangements from flowers I had leftover from my ikebana class this week. The lilies are wonderfully fragrant! I have been logging my quilting library into Excel a few at a time. I’ll do some more tonight. If I’m still awake, I’ll do some paperwork as it doesn’t seem to be getting done by itself — we won’t mention who is woefully, embarrassingly behind. In all, a pretty productive day.

I am impressed! The flowers lately are certainly inspiring, but I am not good at arranging them at all. Mine usually just get plunked in a vase and that’s that.

Logging my library, both my quilting books (mostly history) AND our family’s library has been on my radar for a long time. This after I bought the same book twice. I’ve now decided that I will get rid of a bunch of them first, though, because we’ve aged out of a lot of things (many that I bought for our homeschool), and some, I just realize that I am not in the same place I was when I bought them, if that makes sense.

Paperwork is the bane of my existence.

Ah, yes, the duplicate purchase. Found (3) … so far. I’ve amassed a small mountain to cull but must leaf through some to decide a) do I still want this? or b) should I get rid of it? You are right. Some of the decision is because I’m “not there” any more. Moved on. Didn’t get to paperwork but did get a few more in the log. Feelin’ good about the progress.

Progress is always a good thing, especially when taming the paper pile!

Those duplicates make me kind of crazy. I am TRYing not to buy any books at all until I get them under control. Trying, I said. 😉

I spent a nice quiet day working on some changes to my blog, then spent the rest of the day quilting, ending the day with our quilt group meeting. All in all, a good day. 🙂

Good for you! Glad it was a good day!

Blog changes, for me, get kicked down the road until I reach a critical point and have to fix them. The Boy is my computer fix-it dude, and I will be lost when he leaves and I have to make the changes to code by myself!

I haven’t had enough quilting time lately…hoping to remedy that today!

Hope you get some quilting done today, Lori! I’m going to quilt with some friends today, and quit fussing over the hassle of changing blog sites (newbie woes). Enjoy your Friday!!

          Thank you, Wendy. You too!
