I’m making progress! It’s Tuesday, a sew-all-day day for me (usually). For today, that’s what’s on the plan. I am planning to get a binding on one quilt, but want to finish up something else first.

Over the weekend, I got all of the Goose in the Pond blocks pieced. I’m planning to sew them together today. Working out which way to press the seams was a little bit of a challenge, but it looks like I got it. Now to get it written down so I don’t forget! Anyway, here’s what it looks like so far:

Goose in the Pond blocks, all pieced

Like it? I do. I can see from the photo that I need to move some blocks around to keep the color variation spread out a little more, but that’s easy enough. I’m thinking on binding, though. I’m not yet sure what color I’ll choose. What’s your pick? With fourteen different shades of pink, it shouldn’t be hard to pick one, right? I also need to figure out what to use on the back. More than likely, I’ll have to buy new for both, although I can wring a few pieces out of the block leftovers, but probably not enough to make a whole back.

So, tell me what you think. How shall I bind it? All one color? Scrappy? Something else? Comment below, I’d love to read your thoughts!

The thing I love is how the quilt reads like a red and white quilt, but with much more depth.

Thanks, Bill. I am really fond of red and whites, and not nearly as fond of pink. That value play was what I was experimenting with.
