Last year (and the year before that too) about this time, I told you that my friend Shelly at PrairieMoon Quilts was doing a 350 Blocks Challenge. I joined in both 2014 and 2015 and I’m going to do it again! I can’t remember how many blocks I did in 2014, but last year I made something over 500 blocks. How’s about that?
Shelly notes that in 2014, everybody in the group made a total of 25,974 blocks, and in 2015, we made almost 34,000. That is SO exciting!
It’s very easy to participate in this challenge. Basically, Shelly gives us a number of blocks that we’re supposed to complete in a month and at the end of the month, we report in with how many we did. (In January, for example, our goal is 20 blocks.) Some months I’ve done really well, others…well, not so much.
Just in case you need a little more incentive, I’ll tell you that sometimes there are prizes. Yes, cool prizes.
This might be just a bit more of a challenge for me this year because I am focusing on finishing rather than starting. I do have some gift quilts I want to make though, so this is great motivation to get those started.
So, what do you think? Do you want to come play? Join us! It’s a blast!
