Good Thing Thursday

imageLet’s give this idea a go, shall we? On Thursdays, I’ll tell you something good that’s happening in my world and you tell me something good in yours.

I plan to do this often so will be looking for a good graphic. For now, though, I have this one of the courthouse in our town. It’s a pretty building smack in the middle of the town square. Right around it there are a few antiques shops, a coffee shop, and a couple of restaurants.

Anyway, I figure by Thursday we all need to be reminded of a little extra good in our lives. We’re tired from the week but not q u i t e to the weekend. Tell me anything good that’s happening for you, one word to a zillion. You can even just add a photo of something nice (keep it clean, though, please?).

So…I’ll go first. It’s Thursday and although I was planning to stay home and work on a finish or two, yesterday evening my son invited me to meet him for lunch at our favorite local coffee shop when he gets off work at the museum. Who am I to say no to that? The days are short before he is off to college (actually, probably over a year yet, but still) and I enjoy his company immensely. So, yeah, I’ll be home all morning, but I’ll definitely take a chance to hang out with The Boy. (Incidentally, the place we’ll be is right across from the courthouse featured above).

Your turn now. Ready, set, GO!

It’s a nasty day out, and I don’t have to go anywhere — I get to stay in and sew (if I can get my act together enough). Woohoo!

    • Lori East

I mean, nasty! You are probably even more sick of the mud than I am. I am hoping the rain stops before I have to leave…I’m giving it exactly 2-1/2 hours to get over it. 🙂

Hooray for a sew day! I woke up thinking about 350 Blocks…doesn’t everybody wake up thinking about quilts?

I’m finalizing the schedule for four magazine articles, and I get to work with beautiful fabrics today. And, oh yes, my husband makes coffee and brings it to me every morning! 🙂

    • Lori East

Way to go, Susan! That’s great news! And yes, working with beautiful fabrics (even the not-so-beautiful) makes a day much better.

You definitely have a keeper in your husband! That’s wonderful! I count it good that my husband sets up the pot the night before and, when he’s home, keeps a fresh pot going all the time.

This may be a little silly, but a couple of days ago our old dog Katie hurt her leg walking up the patio steps. Today she is barely limping and is getting around much better. So I am glad she’s feeling better and VERY happy to not have to make yet ANOTHER trip to the vet!

    • Lori East

That’s not all silly, Teri! You don’t want the poor girl to be in pain (and it’s nice to keep those $ that the vet otherwise gets).

I passed the Quickbooks Online ProAdvisor Certification exam. WOOHOO!

    • Lori East

That is wonderful news. Go you!! Congratulations!

Thanks for sharing your great news with me!!

I meant to post this yesterday but got super busy. My happy thing that happened this week is that a project I have been working on for over a year now got brought to the attention of the CEO and he was happy with the work I have been doing. This after a couple of years where the company has undergone a lot of changes and layoffs.

Also, I’m proud of myself for overcoming my fear of rejection and applied to be an Island Batik Ambassador.

Hope you have a wonderful Friday.

Wooohooo! That’s fabulous! Sounds like you have had a great week! I’m so glad to hear it! Enjoy the weekend.
