It’s Good Thing Thursday!

Here it is: Thursday. The day you tell me something good that’s happening in your world!

For me, it’s having a new computer. Yes, a for-real desktop computer with a ginormous (24″) screen. I haven’t had a desktop in years and for the last couple of years have only worked with my iPad. It’s very similar to this one. I do have a laptop but it was a mistake-buy and I have never liked it. But this? Oh, oh, oh.

Thursday
I don’t have any photos of big cats on my screen, but otherwise, my computer looks very like this

Now, I will tell you that few computers in this house avoid the touch of my resident IT man. The Boy, as usual, set this up for me, deleted all the extra gunk, and customized it to my needs. Who needs Geek Squad?

What wonderful things are happening in your world? Comment, please? I really love hearing about the good that’s happening, no matter how small. Found a box of your favorite tea in the market? Tell me! Sewed a y-seam without any ripping? Let us cheer for you! Getting over a cold? Hooray! Any little thing, just drop a line below, share the good!!

I got a big box of Benartex Fossil Fern fat quarters today! I can’t wait to play with them.

Ooooh!! That’s like getting the whole box of crayons!!

      • Wendy Tuma

It is — I’ve never done that before, ordering a whole box. I’m kinda giddy 🙂 And I just watched a short tutorial from MSQC for a half hexi quilt. I have all the fabric, a mini half hex template . . . hmm. Should I just drop everything and make a whole new quilt??? Oh the possibilities!

        • Lori East

Yes, yes, you should!! Go for it!

Well, I did. I started on it, but not with the FQ box. I had a batik jelly roll, so I’m using that. It is coming together really fast and easy. Fun, fun, fun!

There are few things more fun than starting something new!!

Made a quick trip to Dallas and managed dinner out with a few of my oldest, dearest friends – two of whom (Mike and Allan) I’ve known longer than my hubby — since 1986(?) We had a great time in the private back room of Jaxx in Addison. Mike and I are old backgammon buds. Every time we meet, we have to play several (in our case) rowdy backgammon games. We ended our tourney Thursday tied though with carryover from last year, I’m down one 🙁 Including my hubby, there were six of us total. Our waiter, Zack was amazing! Another great Thursday!

That sounds like a blast, Cindy! I love backgammon but haven’t played in a long time…nobody in my house likes it (although I’m not sure how that can be!). Time with old friends is just good for the soul, isn’t it?
